Trends in Catering

Food, like fashion, has its own trends. At Hot Food! Catering, our menus are always ahead of these trends while keeping your budget in mind. During these tough economic times, diners are yearning for the nurturing, down-to-earth comfort foods of their youth, foods that evoke fond memories of traditional meals with family and friends. We love to take these all time favorites and add some pizzazz with chic new twists. Our decadent and sinful mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese become the center stage super stars of the buffet surrounded with such unexpected toppings as Alaskan king crab, Sautéed Wild Mushrooms, Roasted Asparagus, Assorted Cheeses and so much more. Top these with Caviar and you have comfort food fit for royalty!

One of my favorite new party or wedding ideas is to plan a menu which honors your heritage. What a great way to marry your different cultures! Gather favorite family recipes and work with your caterer to create a meaningful celebration and not just another ‘rubber chicken’ dinner.

Everything is going green today, even menus. Conscientious chefs are concerned with what is in their food and where it comes from. At Hot Food!, all of our food is organic when possible and as locally sourced as possible. We are interested in animal welfare, the environment, fair trade practices and supporting local businesses, and we try to cook and serve as ‘green’ as possible. Along those lines, try to choose a menu that reflects the season of your event. Not only is it about choosing the right food at the right time, but allowing your caterer to purchase foods from local farmers ensures you the smallest carbon footprint and, most importantly, the freshest and best meal possible!
